Deck

The BRAMBLE'S primary mission is aids to navigation. These aids help provide the merchant fleet along with private vessels with their safe navigation of the St. Lawrence Seaway.

The BRAMBLE usually runs buoy operations in early winter and again in early spring. This process runs for 8 to 10 weeks for both "commissioning" and "decommissioning". There is a total of approximately 101 lighted buoys to attend to. Approximately 86 unlighted buoys also need to be inspected and serviced every spring.
