History: USCGC Mackinaw is the only 290-foot WAGB in Service. This vessel was designed and configured to perform its missions specifically on the Great Lakes. It works to keep the shipping lanes in the St. Lawrence Seaway open through as much of the winter as possible. She is now retired and sits in Mackinac City, Michigan as a Museum Ship
