The USCGC ALDER is one of the
most technologically advanced vessels on the Great Lakes.
Incorporating the latest developments in Satellite Navigation
and Computer Control Systems. With this the USCGC ALDER
can accurately navigate in the most extreme weather conditions
of the Great Lakes. Aids to Navigation projects are greatly
improved by this ability with the vessel having an ability to
automatically "maintain
station" within a 5-meter circle.
The Bridge itself offers a clear view of
operations on the entire vessel, fore and aft.
