The Algosteel is heading up-bound at the head of the St. Mary's River, about to enter Whitefish Bay on July 25, 2000. She had just finished un-loading her cargo at the Algoma Steel Corp. Ltd. docks as seen in the lower photograph.

Notice the self-unloader boom still in an upright position as the stern cargo hatches are being secured. This is necessary to allow clearance for the hoist used to handle the hatch covers. The photograph from her stern clearly shows the hatch hoist under the self-unloader boom.

History: She has been operated under (2) other names since her maiden voyage. She was initially constructed and launched in 1966 as the A.S.Glossbrenner. From 1987 through 1990 she operated as the Algogulf until receiving her current name, Algosteel
