Grassy Island Range

Location : Green Bay, WI., located at the Green Bay Yacht Club near the entrance to the Fox River.

Height : Front - 23 feet

Access : Front Range - Car, with parking near the Light.

Directions : Exit #187 (Webster Ave./East Shore Dr.) from I-43 in Green Bay. Follow North to Bay Beach Rd. Turn left and procede 1.2 miles as it turns West. Follow to the left (South) and park in the large parking area.

History of the Light : This light station was first established in 1872. Both range lights were completely reconstructed in 1907. The Front Range light is approximately 30 feet tall and sided with shingles. It is white in color with black trim. It is capped with an octagonal lantern surrounded by a metal walkway. Though taller, the Rear Range light is identical with the exception of horizontal wood siding.

Both lights have been saved from destruction by the Green Bay Yacht Club. They have relocated both lights to their facility and are in the process of restoring them.
