History
of the Light :
One of the oldest lighthouses still standing around Lake Michigan, it is
now a museum in a Wisconsin's Peninsula State Park.
The
original lens was a Third and One-half Order Fresnel with an oil
fired lamp. It has since been automated and replaced wit a
solar-powered 300MM plastic lens. It still operates as an active
aid to navigation.
The Light was restored by the Door County Historical Society,
with help from the United States Coast Guard.
