History
of the Light :
One of Michigan's oldest Lighthouses, she stands just South of
the Sleeping Bear Dunes, guiding ships around Point Betsie. In
1983 she was automated, one of the last to be automated in
Michigan. She served as a Coast Guard residence until the
winter of 1996, the family was forced out due to
lack of heat when the boiler failed.
