History of the Light : In 1872 the first lighthouse was erected at Holland harbor. The keeper at that time was M. Van Regenmorter. A keeper's dwelling with a light tower was constructed in 1907. In 1936 the lantern was relocated to a small tower constructed atop the keeper's dwelling. The original tower was then removed. The light has since been covered with steel plates to help protect the wooden structure from the elements. The tower now houses an automated 250 millimeter plastic beacon.

Area Attractions: Holland is a popular boating and fishing town. The area offers traditional Dutch history with an abundance of shops and restaurants. Another popular attraction is the Annual Tulip festival.
