Lighthouse History :  This Lighthouse is at the Northeastern corner of Beaver Island  marking the entrance to St. James Harbor. This harbor, being the largest natural harbor in the Great Lakes, was often used as a safe haven from storms with St. James Light guiding Mariners in. Currently the 41 foot cylindrical tower is all that remains.
