Lighthouse History : This is the original light built here, with the tower is the only thing left standing. As you can see be the above photo, much has changed of this light and its surroundings. Once automated in 1937, the lamp and lantern were removed and replaced with an automated, 300 millimeter light. From then on, only the Light itself received the needed maintenance attention. The Lightkeepers dwelling and other buildings no longer stand along side the Light.
