Lighthouse
History :
On the West side of the channel entrance to Rondeau Harbor is a set of
range markers. The Outer Range Marker is of concrete construction with a
white day-mark and is located at the end of a concrete breakwater. A
flashing green beacon tops the tower with a lens focal plane of 25 feet.
The tower also houses a fog signal.
The Rear Range Marker is of a skeletal steel construction with a bright
orange triangular day-mark. It too has a flashing green beacon.
The East side of the channel is marked with a skeletal
steel tower. It is constructed at the end of the a concrete breakwater
lined with steel sheets. Atop the tower is a red lantern room measuring
approximately 4 feet square. It is of steel construction with 4 glass
panels, a hipped roof and a ventilator stack. Inside is a flashing red
beacon.
