Lighthouse History :  The first Light built in 1827 was constructed of stone and clay from nearby cliffs and river banks. The light was reconstructed in 1857. Over time the nearby cliffs eroded away making the location of the Light un-safe. The light was then relocated in 1876 to it's present location. It is now home to a Veteran Park Museum.
