Lake
Michigan has approximately 88 Lighthouses along her shorelines, more
than any of the other Great Lakes. In contrast to the mainly rock
shoreline of Lake Huron. Lake Michigan has sandy shorelines with
thousands of acres of sand dunes from the Indiana border to the
Straits of Mackinaw. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, in the
Northeastern corner of the lower peninsula, is considered one of the
most scenic areas in the Great Lakes and referred to as
"Michigan's Golden Coast".
