Location : North of Los Angeles Harbor in San Pedro, CA

Access : Car, San Pedro Park near West central Los Angeles. Whale watch boats out of San Pedro also give a good view from the sea side.

Lighthouse History : This lighthouse was established in 1874 exhibiting a Fourth-Order Fresnel lens. The construction consists of a brick foundation with a wood framed residence and tower. The wood was delivered to the location, by ships, from around the tip of South America. The Lighthouse is finished with beautiful white Italianate markings. Retired in 1942, the lighthouse is no longer an active aid to navigation.

 

Area Attractions : 

San Pedro Park surrounds the lighthouse giving a great area to view. It is residence to the park superintendent so the interior is not accessible.
