A State
Operated Harbor, Port Austin Harbor is
located at the tip of the "Thumb". A great stop
before crossing Saginaw Bay.
The entrance to the man-made harbor is marked with buoys and a lights
on the ends of the breakwaters.
There are
picnic tables, grilles a beach and swimming at this harbor.
This harbor is
also located in the Thumb Area Underwater Preserve with many
popular scuba diving sites nearby.
